This is one of my all time favorite custom jazz basses. The combination turned out to be magic. When I tell you that this bass blows away the some of the "Biggies in Custom or "Boutique Jazz style bass guitars believe me. It features a Wenge Neck with Hipshot Ultralight Tuners, a Hipshot Bridge, "69" Fender Jazz Pickups, an "ASH Body" and the great John East preamp with 3 band eq, treble boost, active/passive pickup balance or both full on controls, for a combination that has to be heard to be believed. Punchy, punctual, full with all the bottom and top end for anything musical. Really covers all styles easily. Ash and Wenge = WOW! You will not have to switch basses. Thin fret wire, great fretwork and super feel to the Wenge neck. Familiar Jazz bass body with beautiful Gold trimmings and white pickup covers and pickguard make this a stunning bass in person. I have had the opportunity to test this against basses costing twice as much and they did not hold up to the sound and versatility of this instrument.
