Better Than My 78 Fender Jazz!
This is a rare find in a "Signature Jazz Bass" If you are not familiar with Signature Basses it is because the company only existed in the United States for a few years 1988 to 1992 or so, before Fender threatened law suits over the similarity to the Fender Jazz Bass. Beautiful Wine Red burst finish with Black Backside. The feel of this neck is like your favorite Jazz neck. It is also a tilt back design for fine tuning any angles. With it's block inlays and bound neck with Rosewood fingerboard, the Signature bears strong resemblance to a 70's Fender Jazz Bass. The difference is the Signature Bass is of a very high quality with small details and components that are a cut above the average Fender of this era. The tuners or even the strap holders are nice components. These Basses were well over $12- 1300.00 in price at the time they were available. This was considered to be a high end representation of a Jazz type Bass of it's era. Now there are any number of Fender type high end Basses available from a number of builders. I will tell you this as I have said before, run this Bass through my favorite outboard preamp which is a "Sadowsky" by the way, and look out! You will be shocked at the sound quality and wonder why you need to spend $4,000.00 dollars! The Signature has a very strong 70's Jazz sound to it with clear punchy low mid and full round tone. Its passive pickups are not shy at all. If it is that 70's Fender tone you are looking for you can have it right here. This Bass plays and sounds great and is a real treasure. This one is in mint condition and it is almost 20 years old. What a great Bass as I can't say enough about how it reminds me of my 70's Fender Jazz Basses. Did I say it is just as heavy too with it's Ash body! Don't miss this and save a ton of money in the process.
